Shazam comics often aren't given the credit they deserve for how wildly ridiculous they are, from the Monster Society to Tawky Tawny, to Hoppy the Marvel Bunny, and so on, and Mister Mind is easily one of the most bizarre characters to ever appear in Shazam stories.

As much as it may make sense for these two characters to work together once you get past the absurdity of the characters themselves, there is simply no way to depict a partnership with a psychic caterpillar as anything short of insane. Just look at the response to the movie's post-credits scene!
