8 Cancelled Marvel Legacy Series That The Fans Will Miss
7. Iceman
It doesn’t matter how cool you are, even if you’re ice cold like Vanilla Ice, when it’s time to go, it’s time to go.
Robert ‘Bobby’ Drake’s Iceman may be an interesting character, being an openly homosexual superhero and omega level mutant, yet sadly it’s tough for solo X-Men to get enough attention from retailers. Thus the axe fell on Drake.
It's a shame really, as from his debut way back when in the original X-Men comic he's gone through some pretty fascinating developments. Back in the day he was little more than a glorified snowman, yet as time went on have the kinds of powers that could bring about a new Ice Age.
Issue #11 looks to be the final entry to Sina Grace and Robert Gill's run with Drake, yet it extends all the way into March of 2018 so, for a lone X-Man, that’s a pretty good run. It’s been a good means of fleshing out his character as well, hoisting responsibility for the next generation of mutants onto his shoulders whilst exploring his impressive powers.
As part of the X-Men world, Drake has had quite a few challenges to overcome, including, but not limited to, the ever-present threat of Sentinels and Wolverine’s super-dick of a son, Dakon. So maybe with time he may appreciate being out of the warming glare of the spotlight.
