8 Cancelled Marvel Legacy Series That The Fans Will Miss

6. Hawkeye

Legacy Gwenpool
Marvel Comics

To clarify, this Hawkeye isn’t Clint Barton (the lovable original archer of Marvel) but the badass Kate Bishop. She’s the first female Hawkeye to don the quiver, and she’s awesome as she essentially made herself Hawkeye after breaking into the Avengers headquarters and stealing a load of equipment.

Brandishing Swordman’s (yeah, great name, isn’t it?) sword, Black Widow’s belt and a mash-up of Hawkeye and Mockingbird’s outfits, she helped the Young Avengers take down Kang the Conquerer.

And she invited herself onto the team. Truly badass, right there.

She may not be the most powerful would-be Avenger but there is plenty to love about her, as well as the on-going story, which makes this cancellation all the sadder. Concluding with issue #16, Hawkeye found herself teaming up with the original Hawkeye in issue #13, which made for a fun and dynamic team. Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero also made for quite the team, yet all good things must end.

Luckily for Barton fans he’s been around and kicking tail in Tales of Suspense’s ‘Hawkeye and Winter Soldier’, which has seen the two begrudgingly team up to try and track down Black Widow, who was presumed dead after the events of Secret Empire. It’s a fantastic set-up, what with both of them hating each other and being ex’s of Romanoff, but sadly Bishop’s Hawkeye is no longer getting much love.
