8 Greatest Punisher Crossover Stories

Who would have thought we would ever see Frank Castle on the street of Riverdale? Well when notorious crime leader Melvin “Freckles” Jay is rumored to be in town, Punisher makes it his mission to hunt Freckles down. The problem is Freckles resembles a very famous comic book character, namely Archie, of Archie Comics fame.

First, Punisher confuses Archie for Freckles, and tails a vehicle with him in it. After shooting the vehicle’s tires, causing it to spin out, Frank confronts Archie and sticks a gun in his face. Castle soon realizes that Archie isn’t Freckles and continues his search.

Unbeknownst to Frank, Freckles is hiding in plain sight, alongside Archie’s friend Veronica, at the school dance. Archie goes to the police, who refuse to take him seriously, while the Punisher uses a bug he put on Freckles’ van, to find out the location of his target.

Disguised as a chaperone, Castle infiltrates the school dance and begins a shootout with Freckles’ men. Melvin manages to kidnap Veronica and escape. Punisher and Archie finally agree to work together, and using a clue Veronica gave the team, are able to confront and apprehend Melvin, making Riverdale safe for one more day.
