8 Oldest DC Characters

5. Superman Prime One Million - Beyond Time And Space

Superman Prime One Million
DC Comics

The original Superman this may not be, but Superman Prime (the good one, not the evil one from Infinite Crisis), is among the oldest beings in the history of DC continuity.

This may be cheating slightly, as the Superman of our Earth also ages at a reduced rate (hence why he features in Batman Beyond), but the Superman of the 853rd Century is always older, literally speaking.

In his reality, Prime One Million left the Earth in the 21st Century after all of his loved ones passed away. Eventually, this version of Kal-El would head straight to the sun itself, creating a new Fortress of Solitude from within its core and emerging with a flashy new golden paint job. Unsurprisingly, the gold colouring also denoted a shift in power, with this version of Superman being undoubtedly the strongest incarnation of the character ever conceived.

He is an actual god amongst Super-Men, and with the rules of time no longer applying, it's difficult to envision a reality where Superman Prime isn't alive.
