8 Ridiculous Pieces Of Comic Book Merchandise (You Secretly Want To Buy)

6. Nite Owl From Watchmen Coffee

It's hard to believe that this coffee, based on the movie version of the graphic novel, was actually a real thing. Created by the organic coffee cartel, there were only 10,000 cans of Veidt Enterprise's Nite Owl Dark Roast ever made. Official Watchmen set photographer Clay Enos, who came up with the idea, claimed that making an imaginary coffee into something real seemed like a fitting and fun way to honour the multilayered world of Watchmen. Alan Moore would probably disagree - he wasn't even happy about the movie, never mind a coffee-based tie-in. At least they only stuck with Nite Owl and didn't release a Comedian version: a violently strong flavour that feels like a punch in the face. It's not all fun though. The design of the can caused coffee company Chock Full O'Nuts to bring a lawsuit against Warner Bros., claiming it was an exact copy of their design. Who watches the Watchmen? The Lawyers, that's who.
