8 Times Asgard Went To War

After the events of Siege, Asgard and the World Tree Yggdrasil were left as smoldering rubble outside the small town of Broxton Oklahoma. With his realm in ruins Odin had Thor and Sif retrieve a powerful artefact from beneath the Yggdrasil, the Galactus Seed, a seed created by Eternity at the beginning of the universe and discovered by Odin's father, Bor.

After finding the seed, Bor planted it and doing so gave birth to the current universe.

Its no wonder then that upon revealing such a powerful artefact that Galactus would want it. Arriving on Earth, the Silver Surfer demands Odin hand over the seed because he believes the energy within it is capable of sustaining Galactus indefinitely. Of course, Odin being Odin, he doesn't take too kindly to the Silver Surfer making demands of him, and refuses to hand over the seed.

Reporting back to Galactus and Odin understanding the newest threat they face, both sides begin readying for war, and is it awesome.

Thor and Sif kick everything off by engaging the Silver Surfer in space, while Odin telepathically battles Galactus. After a massive blow by Thor to Galactus staggers the Devourer, the Silver Surfer reengages Thor leaving Odin and Galactus to square off again.

Summoning all his strength, Odin headbutts Galactus, shattering his helmet and forcing Odin into the Odinsleep. Comic moments rarely get any more epic.
