8 Worst Things Harley Quinn Has Ever Done
7. Fighting Joker's 'Daughter'
Though the New 52 marked the occasion where Harley began to enter the mainstream, taking a lead in numerous books in the wake of her appearances in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it was also a period where her characterisation was deeply criticised. Gone was the old red and black jester suit, and in came a red and blue corset and leggings combo, inspired by her garb from the first Arkham sequel.
It was an era that saw her hook up with Deadshot, become a leading force on the Suicide Squad and finally - in a positive move - break off her association with Joker. It also featured her slapping the daylights out of Duela Dent, the self-proclaimed 'daughter' of her former puddin'.
Reaction to Dent's character was always mixed, and while her attempts to continue her 'father's' legacy were always going to rub Harley the wrong way, one got the impression that Dent was less a diabolical menace, and more just an unfortunate victim - albeit a dangerous one - of Joker's legacy.
In any case, the two come to blows in the pages of Suicide Squad when she's assigned to the team. Harley promptly kicks the one living reminder of the Clown Prince into oncoming traffic, taking part in a moment that's equal parts empowering and unfortunate.
