The Wanderers were a spin-off team from DC's Legion of Superheroes. Among other things, the team traveled the galaxy, solving mysteries and saving lives. One of the most prominent members of the team was Aviax, a hero with the ability to transform into different kinds of birds. The adventure that landed him on this list, and got him banned from just about every zoo and aviary in the Western world, came in 1988. The team arrived on a planet populated with dinosaurs that were under threat of extinction. The various alien dinosaurs were all dying out before they had the chance to begin evolving into birds, which presumably mean that the planet's future bird-watching population would have nothing to do. The Wanderers quickly discover that a radioactive fog is killing the dinosaurs. As the team were, inexplicably, immune to the radiation, shapeshifter Aviax had a brilliant plan to save the dinosaurs; Sex! To save the future of an alien planet, Aviax has to have sex with a dinosaur. The idea was that if Aviax was already immune to the radiation fog, he would be able to pass that genetic immunity onto future generations of dinosaurs. Which is exactly what he proceeded to do. Weirdly, Aviax only actually mated with a single dinosaur, and didn't even bother sticking around to find out if the experiment was successful. Typical man.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
