Captain Marvel: 10 Comics Fans Must Read After Seeing The Film
9. Ms. Marvel: Civil War
The Marvel Civil War was the most divisive and damaging events in the company's history. It resulted in the bifurcation of the Marvel Universe heroes, and ended with the death of Captain America, though he wasn't the only casualty to result from that conflict.
As one of the most powerful players in the field, Ms. Marvel's inclusion in the Civil War has a significant impact. She ultimately joins forces with Simon Williams, otherwise known as Wonder Man, as well as Julia "Arachne" Carpenter to train and police new heroes.
As always, nothing goes according to plan, and it isn't long before some familiar faces from Carol's past show up, including one Rogue of the X-Men! Unsurprisingly, Carol isn't too happy to see the lady who took her powers and memories so long ago, which doesn't make the already chaotic event move along smoothly.
While it helps to read the entire Civil War event to fully understand the scope of what's going on in this book, it isn't entirely necessary. On its own, Ms. Marvel Civil War stands as an impressive look at the inner-workings of Carol Danvers as she works to fight for the good guys as Ms. Marvel.
