Captain Marvel's 8 Biggest Feats Of Strength

3. Survived Having Her Powers Stolen By Rogue - Avengers

Although Carol Danvers is fairly synonymous with the Avengers, there was a time when a chance encounter with Rogue meant she spent a lot of time with the X-Men instead.

As most X-Men fans will know, Rogue was actually first introduced as a villain. Given she was the daughter of Mystique, that made a lot of sense, but the strange thing is her first target wasn't Xavier's team, but rather the Avengers instead.

As the scheme progresses, Rogue targets Carol Danvers, and then - in typical Rogue fashion - promptly steals her powers. This gives her all Danvers' strength, but somehow Carol manages to survive when Rogue attempts to finish the job for good.

Ultimately, this one interaction would come to inform major aspects of each character for the next few decades. Rogue would be plagued by Danvers' memories, and Danvers herself would harbour a massive grudge against the character, even as she switched allegiances and joined the X-Men. Unsurprisingly, Rogue is now often considered to be an icon of the Avengers too, and it's all because she took on Carol's powers in her first appearance.
