Comics Section Editor/Reporter – WhatCulture Is Hiring!

WhatCulture.com is currently seeking an Editor/Reporter for the Comics Section. The required candidate would be able to produce articles such as features, top-ten lists, news reports and analysis about the latest comic releases and the wider comic world. The candidate may also be expected to attend conventions and cover big events so weekend work would be probable. The role would carry an initial 10 week trial period, with a view to a full-time position. Salary £13,500 per annum plus Bonuses Role Requirements The candidate must be passionate about comics, knowledgeable of the comic book scene and keep up to date with publications including Marvel, DC, Image and the more indie scene. Strong writing and communication skills. Editing skills and experience will stand you in good stead, but is not required. The candidate should also be well-versed in social/mobile media, and be comfortable utilising Twitter and Facebook to promote work. An eye for detail, punctuation and grammar is a must. Additionally, the candidate must be eager for success, comfortable working either as part of a team or on their own. Working Environment Must be able to work from our Newcastle office. While office hours are generally 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, candidates must have a flexible work schedule and be open to working weekend days.
