2. Marauders
Most versions of the Marauders are supervillain teams, yet as the discussion here is on X-Men groups, the only relevant iteration is the one that launched under the Dawn of X banner.
So, why does a team with such little history rank so highly among several X-Men teams with greater heritages? Well, it's simple - this group is awesome! It features a bunch of classic X-Men: Kate Pryde, Iceman, Emma Frost, Storm, Bishop, and Pyro and basically places them as a crew of swashbuckling freedom fighters - travelling the high seas to ensure all mutants are able to reach Krakoa.
And while it may not have given new iconic costumes to everyone, the ones it has provided Kate Pryde and Emma Frost with are arguably their all-time best.
Pryde has gone full pirate, wearing a red 1700s naval coat to match her new title of Red Queen, and wielding a cutlet too. Frost's look is far more in-keeping with her usual wardrobe, it being something in-between a suit and a typical superhero costume, yet is still a wonderful look.
Anyway, you get the idea, I'll stop gushing about the Marauders now.
