Fight Club 2: 10 Things You Need To Know

10. It's A Sequel To The Book, Not The Film

That's the first band aid that needs ripping off. Fight Club 2 will be following on from where the story of Chuck Palahniuk's 1996 novel, and not the 1999 David Fincher film adaptation. In terms of plot, that doesn't mean all that much, since the movie is mainly pretty faithful: apart from the ending, which is vastly different in the film to the book. Both rich a similar end point, even if a handful of the moments on the way a tweaked. The book, however, ends with the Narrator not shooting himself in the head, but confined to a mental asylum, with the members of Project Mayhem assuring him that the actions of Tyler Durden will still go ahead without a hitch. So there'll be no massive head wounds for Fight Club 2's star, and both The Narrator (now going by Sebastian, according to a six page preview released over the weekend) and the rest of the characters will look a little different to how you remember, since they won't have got the likeness rights to Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and co.
