Frank Cho's Mystery Project Is AVENGERS vs X-MEN Prologue

Though you have to look really hard to know that...

Some time back, I talked about a mystery project that Frank Cho was working on for Marvel Comics. The Liberty Meadows creator gave us a taster of the cover featuring Magneto, Wolverine, Quicksilver, The Vision, and Ultron, and said the project would possibly be revealed at October's New York Comic Con, but that wasn't the case. Now it's being revealed that he was working on the prologue book to Marvel's next big event Avengers Vs. X-Men. Though you have to look really hard to know that. The cover has The Scarlet Witch and Hope Summers front and center with the events logo taking up much of the background, and covering Cho's pencil drawing of the rest of the cast, part of which is what he revealed several months back. See for yourself below..... Now here it is, sans logo....... Avengers Vs. X-Men is a new 12 part event, released bi-weekly beginning in April. It involves the return of The Phoenix, a cosmic force of nature that plays a big part in the X-Men mythos, to Earth and how Earth's Mightiest Heroes and The Children of The Atom disagree on how to handle it. The writers and artist behind the series include Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, John Romita Jr. And Oliver Copiel. Seeds for the event are being planted in the mini series Avengers: X-Sanction, which launched yesterday. Cho's prologue, Avengers Vs. X-Men #0, is released in March.
