Harleen: Everything You Need To Know About DC's New Harley Quinn Comic
What can fans expect from the new Black Label origin story?
Unless you've been living in a cave, on Mars, with your fingers in your ears and your eyes shut tight while yelling 'LALALALALALA' at the top of your voice for the past couple of weeks, then you know by now that Harley Quinn is getting a new comic courtesy of DC Black Label and writer/artist Stjepan Sejic.
But just what does this new version of Harley promise to give you? Well, first off you can all stop panicking as it's not going to be a dreaded reboot, but instead a reimagining of her origin story and how she met the Joker.
It promises to be dark, holistic and visually stunning, although the latter aspect goes without saying when discussing Sejic.
And even though this comic isn't looking to shake up Harley's back-story too much there are a few things that are going to be done differently and there's a couple of issues that you need to know about before you part with your hard earned cash and this list aims to bring you everything you need to arm yourself with before 'Harleen' hits the shelves in a couple of months time.
8. It's Being Written And Illustrated By Stjepan Sejic
If you're going to release a comic that looks to shake up the mythology of Harley Quinn then you better have someone on board that can do it justice. Fortunately, DC Comics aren't stupid and decided to hire Stjepan Sejic to handle both writing and drawing duties on the forthcoming Harleen.
The thirty-seven year old Croatian almost became a lawyer before he stumbled across a copy of Witchblade but thankfully that's set him on the path to comic book greatness, and in the twelve years he's been in the business, he's more than proven himself capable of handling any series that he's been put to work on.
He's provided art for Realm of the Kings: Inhumans, Justice League Odyssey, and Brothers in Arms to name just three, and his distinctive style is fully on show in the pages that have already been made available to the public, giving Harley a sharper, more realistic look.
And there's no need to worry about his writing chops either, given that he's been writing and illustrating Sunstone since 2011 along with his wife Linda.
