How Batman Would Defeat Every Spider-Man Villain
13. Shocker
Herman Schultz was a pathetically bad criminal who spent most of his youth in and out of prison. During one stint, he worked in the prison machine shop and created his Vibro-Shock Gauntlets and a specially insulated costume to take the costumed identity of the Shocker. With these devices, he could shock opponents, deflect blows, and crack open safes. He even beat Spider-Man on his first outing, although the hero did have a broken arm.
Given that Batman was a gifted designer and inventor himself, it seems very likely that he would be able to create a device that would match or overcome the resonance frequency of the shock gauntlets. Even without the additional preparation time, defeating the gauntlets is the key to defeating the Shocker. A Batarang in the right place would short out or potentially overload the gauntlets.
Despite his claims that he is the world’s greatest safecracker, Shocker has had severe bouts of low self-esteem and a lack of confidence in his life. This is something that Batman could use against the villain to end the fight before it ever starts. Playing into Schultz’s history of constant failure and defeat would possibly be enough to get the Shocker to just give up.
