How You Can Actually Kill Wolverine
1. Not As Invincible As Once Thought?
As with most superheroes, Wolverine's powers get buffed and weakened almost every other year. Prior to his 2014 demise the mutant had had his healing factor drastically weakened, and in the aforementioned Fatal Attractions storyline his adamantium was removed so as to make the character feel less invincible.
These changes have experienced relative success in the comics themselves, but ol' Wolvie has - like most of his comic counterparts - managed to avoid death's permanent embrace. He has, like most heroes, enjoyed absences from the comics having been killed, but no plot is too potent for a good reboot, retcon or relaunch. So no matter how hard it might be to kill Wolverine, it's even harder to make him stay dead, owing to the character's popularity both on and off the page, and Marvel's reluctance to commit to a post-Logan milieu.
It's just the way the cookie crumbles, and while that might come as good news to fans of Canucklehead, for Logan, the lack of finality must be tragic. Just leave him be, Marvel. He's earned a rest.
