Identity Crisis: 9 Things It Got Right (And The 1 Big Thing It Didn't)

5. The League Within The League

When a threat shows up that is too big for a single hero to fight, then the greatest heroes in the world must band together and form the Justice League. While the roster may have rotated somewhat over the years, the central tenant has remained the same. This idea was never more true than during the “Satellite Era” of the League. The roster had grown to such a degree it had begun to branch into different "Embassies" and sub-teams.

Identity Crisis looks at the difference between the Justice League as a team and the smaller "familial" unit that had formed within. Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Atom, Hawkman, Zatanna and Black Canary were friends first and foremost.

The likes of Batman and Superman would rush off after whatever threat had brought them all together had been vanquished, but the others would go out to dinner and talk about their personal lives.

This group would suffer the most when the murderer started targeting those nearest and dearest to the League. While the Justice League would take the assault of a teammate seriously, there is nothing this League wouldn't do when one of their family came under attack.
