Marvel Legacy: 8 Reasons The Fans Should Be Worried

6. Legacy Will Alienate Newcomers Further

Marvel is looking too far into its illustrious past with Legacy, and appears to be pandering to lapsed readers who haven't frequented comic shops since the '80s.

Doesn't it make more sense for the publisher to have focused on making its line more accessible to newcomers? This is one of its biggest problems.

Reverting to legacy numbering won't help. How are newbies supposed to know there's a jumping-on point in Invincible Iron Man #593 without doing extensive research?

Many Legacy titles will also pick up existing plot threads, some of which are in chaos as a result of previous events, so there are no points of entry here.

Although it's been done before, Marvel would have had more success reaching first-time readers with a line of new number ones launched at affordable price points.
