MCU Phase 4: 10 Obscure Comic Villains Who Should Appear

5. Wonder Man

Morbius The Living Vampire
Marvel Comics

Wonder Man may be best known to comic readers as an ally to the Avengers, but he originally debuted as Simon Williams, heir to a munitions manufacturing company and rival to Tony Stark granted massive ionic power.

As Phase Three comes to a close, it's inevitable The Avengers lineup will need a shake-up, and what better way to kill two birds with one stone than to introduce a villain who, at the end of his bad streak, could then join the gang?

In terms of who to cast, you need a guy who can play the entitled, Hollywood playboy, and by all rights looks like he's a prat, but when you get to know him a bit he's actually not that bad.

Enter, Scott Eastwood. Given a year or so's notice to pack on some pounds, the progeny of Dirty Harry could fill the radiation-powered shoes of Wonder Man, who was at one point a Hollywood actor in the comics.

In years gone by, characters that required significant amounts of CGI were a risk to produce, considering their powers didn't always come across well in a visual sense, and Wonder Man is heavy on the ol' eye and hand beams. I mean the guy walks around as a living ion at times.

As for why Eastwood makes sense in the role; he's starting to get his chops in Hollywood, particularly as an action specialist, featuring in features like Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim: Uprising and boasts the chiseled features of a teenage pop sensation, and it's about time the likes of Thor and Cap had some new blood for competition in the annual Avengers charity date auction.

Williams' origin sets him on a course with Iron Man and the Avengers, developing a love interest with the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff, for a time. And after turning a leaf, evil brother Eric Williams, the Grim Reaper, could provide a natural on-screen nemesis.

Ideal Casting: Scott Eastwood

Tom Sunderland hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
