Naruto Chapter 555 Review: Contradiction

After last week€™s concluding chapter, the fight between the Third Raikage and the Joint-Shinobi Army. For those who may not had the chance to read last week€™s chapter, Naruto was starting to form the Tailed Beast Bomb attack that Killer Bee tried to teach him earlier in the series. While Naruto is making his Tailed Beast Bomb, the Third Raikage is attacking the ninjas and as Naruto is about to finish off making it, the technique fails on him and goes back to his normal form. Temari gets all of the ninjas to retreat and tries to get all of the injured away from the possessed leader. Naruto immediately asks Dodai that he needs to speak with Bee and his Biju and as Dodai is a commander, he can link with one of the mind-reading ninjas to get in contact with them. But the Third Raikage smashes the cliff that the two were standing on and he changes his hand from three fingers to a fist and as he is about to hit Naruto, Dodai uses his rubber technique to surround Naruto in a ball. Third Raikage hits the ball and flies off into the sky and he follows it. Dodai gets into contact with one of the mind-reading ninjas and we see him sitting on falling rock with Naruto near him. Naruto notices how fast he was, as he managed to pull him out of the ball at the last minute. They both land on the ground and Naruto closes his eyes, ready to get into contact with Killer Bee and the Biju. We finally see why Killer Bee wasn€™t near Naruto and it turns out that he was taking a very long pee outside the battle area that Naruto is in. Bee is contacted by Naruto and he asks him to talk with the Biju, asking him how he fought the Third Raikage and how he managed to get the scar on the Raikage€™s chest. But he says to Naruto that he can€™t remember how he took him down, as they both feel down at the same time. The Third Raikage manages to cut through the rubber ball and sees that nothing is inside, jumping back to where he fought everyone. With an idea in mind, Naruto goes into Sage Mode and tells Dodai to leave, preparing an ordinary Rasengan towards the rampaging leader. As Naruto prepares to attack, Dodai tells everyone to stay away from the fight and for the sealing squad to prepare themselves. Naruto charges at the Raikage and storm ahead to each other and Naruto dodges his move and pushes the Rasengan in the Raikage€™s arm, making him push his own attack within the same spot where the car was. As the former leader crumbles, the sealing squad seals him away. The end of the chapter sees Gaara struggling to fight against the Second Mizukage, with most of the other ninjas lying on the ground after massive injuries. It was great to see Naruto taking on an opponent in this arc without relying on his Chakra Form and to use his wits to take him down, giving him a much needed independent approach towards a threatening goal. The artwork I found was a mixture of good and bad work, with the scene with the Raikage being taken down by Naruto very detailed and great. However, the rest of the scenes were not very impressive, except by the small panels such as when Dodai makes his rubber ball technique and when Naruto goes into Sage Mode.
