Two years after Infinite Crisis, the buzz of the Secret Six was not dying down, so another six issue limited series was given to the mercenary group, where they face off against Doctor Psycho.

They would then be seen in a crossover with the Birds of Prey for a solid four-part story set in Russia. However, it’s here that one of the characters is killed as a tie-in to the Death of the New Gods plot leading into Final Crisis.

With Gail Simone knocking it out of the park again, they got their own ongoing that lasted a hefty 36 issues from 2008 to 2011. The range of stories in the ongoing are truly spectacular and start with the team being hired to attain a “Get out of hell free” card, then turning against slave-traders to the personal story of Catman going after the murderers of his son.

It ran the full track of emotions, with humor, drama and never shying away from the fact that these people, even if seen in a sympathetic light, are all villains at heart.
