1342361Billy Batson may have been bestowed with the powers of the gods, but that doesn't negate the inexperience of the young hero.
After the events of the comic Justice League: Trinity War and the subsequent Forever Evil storyline, which both highlighted Shazam and the surrounding mythos of the character in a relatively major way (with Constantine even stealing Batson's powers at one point), Billy is inducted into the main League, with founding member Cyborg acting as his unofficial mentor for the twenty or so issues in which he appeared in the book.
Later on, Shazam even makes an appearance in Cyborg's brief New 52 solo series, the character now being much more experienced at superhero-ing and approaching his former team mate as an equal, rather than as a student.
