03. Hush
When DC was suffering a financial downturn one graphic novel was able to singlehandedly save them from ruin and reinvent their biggest cash cow for a modern audience, less desensitised to violence than previous ones. Hush is the excellent story of a mysterious masked figure returning from Batman's past to ruin him. As the potential culprits build up Batman grows more and more dangerous, like a cornered animal intent to expose his latest adversary. But just when he thinks he has all the answers, the man known as Hush changes all the questions. But who is he and what does he want? Available in a gorgeous hardback Absolute edition, Hush is a genre classic that will never grown old. One to avoid however is The Return of Hush. Way to ruin a great character DC. Sigh.
