Top 10 Marvel NOW! Titles

3. All-New X-Men, Volume 1

All New X Men 1 With the X-Men split into two opposing factions, in All-New X-Men a dying Beast goes into the past to bring the original five X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast and Angel) to the present, with the hope that by presenting the adult Cyclops with his younger more idealistic self, the older Cyclops will be forced to face how far he has fallen, saving the mutant population from further disaster in the process. Having come from the more innocent Silver Age of Comics, the original X-Men quickly learn of the coloured and varied lives of their future counterparts, which proves difficult for the young mutants (Jean notably learning that she destroyed a planet and had died on two separate occasions). When the idea was first introduced it sparked internet outcry (especially from those who were sick of Jean Grey's repeated resurrection), however, since then All New X-Men has become one of the most successful and most entertaining Marvel NOW! titles. Although things are far from great for the young heroes, there's a lot of fun to be had with All-New X-Men. Once again, the young mutants get to meet heroes, villains and even family (the young Cyclops meeting his thought lost brother, Havok, being a particularly poignant moment in the series) for the first time, the outcome of these encounters often differing radically from the first time around. Under the tutelage of Professor Kitty Pryde, and with a burgeoning romance developing between the young Cyclops and Wolverine's genetic clone, X-23 (which is all kinds of creepy), the title offer several entertaining twists on the classic dynamics of the X-Men. So if you're missing the old (young) Cyclops and want to relive some of the heroes' earliest adventures, then All New X-Men is a must read.
