In at number three we have Avengers Forever by Kurt Busiek. This story arc explores the history of the Avengers and deals with members of the team being pulled to the present from the past and future. The newly assembled, cross-time team includes Goliath and The Wasp from the present day, Captain Marvel and Songbird from the future as well as Captain America, Hawkeye and Yellowjacket from the past. The team journey through time and must do battle with Kang the Conqueror's future self Immortus who is working for the mysterious Time Keepers. The story is a multifaceted extravaganza that spans centuries and features countless crossovers and cameos. It is placed so highly on our countdown thanks to the quality of its art and the way it seamlessly ties together the history of the Avengers while correcting and explaining previous continuity errors.
