The Walking Dead: 10 Highly Anticipated Moments We'll See In Future Seasons
1. Negan and Lucile
The price that must be paid for Rick and Jesus' plan of a larger world is none other than Negan, the dirty nursery-rhyme spouting, maniacally level-headed madman who runs a community named The Saviors. With Negan is his lady-love Lucille, a barbed-wire wrapped baseball bat.
Demanding half of the Alexandria and Hilltop coalition's supplies as a regular tribute in trade for his group's 'protective services' (i.e. not killing everyone is both communities), Negan pushes Rick into dangerously familiar territory as the deaths and hopeless decisions mount at an alarming rate and an all-out war ensues. Negan and the chaos he creates steers the plot of the last third of the current comic series and when it wraps up, it leaves those left standing with an entirely new arc. This arc is epic in scope, and rapidly develops tension shifts and continues mounting, leading to ever-growing stakes and the need to make heartbreaking choices. Negan will most likely be introduced mid-season eight with the war escalating through season nine. Along with Negans story line comes many other exciting possibilities, including Ezekiel, Dwight, and the use of walker-blood tainted weapons. The conclusion of Negan's arc could provide a hopeful resolution to end the show on, or, as we all hope, it will provide the point of departure for our group and pave the way for many seasons to follow.
