The Walking Dead: 10 Highly Anticipated Moments We'll See In Future Seasons
9. Rick Gets into Relationship With Not-Andrea
When the television adaptation killed off Andrea, who is still a major player to this day, it was a controversial deviation from the comics. In the books, Andrea not only serves as the group's sniper, but she has begun a long and popular romance with Rick. While the show has had its problems with getting bogged down in the more dramatic moments of its run, Rick's romantic endeavours have proven vital to his growth as a leader and an important force in maintaining his humanity in the face of the constant threats they encounter. Who and what Ricks becomes is in large part reflective of his relationships and he and not-Andrea will likely occur in the show one way or another. The question is: what will show runner Scott Gimple's re-mix on this major plot point be? Of the existing characters, there have been hints of Michonne getting friendly with Mr. Grimes, but this seems unlikely as the samurai sword wielding heroine has her own rocky, difficult love life to deal with. That leaves two basic possibilities. One, a new character, perhaps some young sassy sharpshooter from some parts as yet unknown? After all, it is still a long road heading towards Washington and Alexandria. More intriguing is the possibility of Rick being romantically linked to Rosita Espinoza. In the comics, she is Abrahams girlfriend, but the show seems to have abandoned that particular relationship. Her demeanor and skills closely resemble the Andrea of the comics, and with Christian Serratos promotion to series regular for Season Five, she will have ample screen time to get cosier with Sheriff Grimes.
