What Could The Joker Have In Store for Death Of The Family?

Jason Todd / Red Hood

Given Jason Todd€™s history of the Joker, this meet up should prove very interesting indeed. Todd is sitting outside of the Batman family of late and even with his return from the dead he isn€™t exactly playing in the Batman family circle. He has taken his own path as the Red Hood (something also linked to Joker€™s past) and is part of his own team, The Outlaws. These two characters meeting up in a post DC 52 world will hopefully clear up just how much of Death in the Family still sticks since the DC 52 reboot and I can imagine this will be played on quite heavily. Will there be a shocker and Jason will side with the Joker against Batman? Will Jason try to take the Joker down himself? Will this unite Batman and his previous Robin and fix the bond that was broken due to Batman's faliure? Chances Of Getting Killed: To me Jason Todd is totally expendable. I never liked his return as it undermined a major event in Batman€™s life and an event that the fans voted to happen. Killing Robin was about as dark a things could get in the world of Batman comics and his resurrection was a bad idea in my mind. Having Joker re-kill Jason would work for me. Batman would feel like he€™d failed Jason all over again and in many ways it would serve as a reminder of how brutal The Joker can be. Shock Value: If Joker re-kills Jason I€™d say it would sit about midway up the shock value chart. It would be one hell of an event but really a certain part of me would see it as course correction but having a character we€™ve seen Joker kill before killed again isn€™t the most shocking of events.
