What Could The Joker Have In Store for Death Of The Family?

Commissioner Gordon

Gordon took a big hit from the Joker in The Killing Joke as well as a whole lot more on the streets of Gotham. The Commish will no doubt be the first point of contact for Joker when he makes his pressence known in the city, so the initial flick of the Batsignal will no doubt spark from Gordon. Now how much of the plot Gordon will play a part in going forward is any ones guess. i don't think he's been used all that well post DC 52 relaunch but maybe this is the time. Chances Of Getting Killed: I think the fact Gordon was the target in The Killing Joke makes him pretty safe within the pages of Death of the Family. On top of that, post the DC 52 reboot, Gordon is younger, more hands on and there's plenty of stories to tell with him. Losing him now, would feel fruitless for Batman comics wouldn't it? Shock Value: If Gordon dies here I'm be very surprised. It would be shocking but I just don't feel its on the cards.

A Joker Twist?

Snyder has said that Death of the Family refers to the Bat-family but this is The Joker we're dealing with. I'm talking of deaths, reveals of identities and revenge but really The Joker could be coming back for any passing reason that's got into his deranged brain. He might be here to discredit Batman to the Gothamites. He might be there to turn over a new leaf or to help Gotham (unlikely). He could even be here to burn Gotham to the ground and take out the Bat-family in amongst that. The great thing with The Joker is we simply never know how grand his scheme will be. It could be small and personal to Batman or something to make Batman the focus in the media. It might be one to one with the Bat-family members or he might deal with them all at once. Either way, the prospect of Scott Snyder and the greatest villain of all time is exciting stuff and it's not long to wait at all. What are your thoughts? What has Snyder got in store for us? How do you feel about Jokers removed face (something I've barely even touched on here). What are your thoughts on the reveal of the monstrous "horror movie" look of the Joker that's been hinted at and who do you think is at risk with the clown prince of crime's return to the streets of Gotham? Oh and will he make Harley change back to her classic costume please, the new one is just dull.
