What Happened To Everyone Who Became Spider-Man?

First Appearance As Spider-Man: Deadpool Annual #2

The relationship between Spider-Man and Deadpool is a slightly curious one. The two have only really stricken up a partnership over the last few years, but their time together has proven so successful that Marvel keep finding ways to have the two interact with each other whenever the situation arises.

One such situation came in 2014's Deadpool Annual #2, which saw the Merc' with a Mouth impersonate Spider-Man while Peter is suffering from a series of attacks by the Chameleon. So, Wade Wilson - being the good friend that he is - devises a solution to put an end to the Chameleon's torment, by suiting up as Spider-Man and catching him before he can cause more harm to Pete.

The tale itself is well written, and sees Wade doing his best to honour Peter's mantra without overstepping any boundaries. Of course, Deadpool being Deadpool, that's a lot easier said than done, but he still manages to do the role justice (for the most part).

As for what Wade's up to these days, he's definitely no longer Spider-Man. Wade had a really rough go of things during Secret Empire, having been manipulated by Hydra out of blind loyalty for Captain America to kill Agent Coulson, and effectively lay the groundwork for Hydra's takeover. He turns against the group in the end, but the experience takes a heavy toll, and eventually led to Wade wiping his own memory to escape the guilt.
