24. Mantis
Another super obscure pick from the bronze age of comics for the Dan Abnett run of Guardians was Mantis. Surprisingly, this is easily one of the most changed characters from page to screen, all the way down to her powers.
See, in the comics, Mantis is not an empath, she is a precog, meaning she can see the future through cosmic awareness. The Abnett run did a lot more with this than others, as Mantis knew right from the beginning that one of the team was going to betray them and that the consequences would be dire, but that telling the team this would actually make things worse in the long run so she had to keep her mouth shut.
Another difference was that Mantis, in her original appearances on Avengers, referred to herself as "this one" and was by far one of the horniest Avengers in the history of the team. mantis is currently not on the team in its current 2020 run, but that's unlikely to last long, given how synonymous she is with the team nowadays.
