Even before officially becoming part of the Kent family, Lois Lane kinda has to be on a list like this. She and the man of steel are inseparable characters from one another.
Superman and Lois have been married, broken up, just friends, complete strangers, and DC even tried to hook up Supes with Wonder Woman of all people and leave Lois in the dust. But Lois and Superman always find their way back to one another, even if DC has to swap out Superman with an already married version of him to do it.
The only major difference with the current Lois Lane is that, in her original universe, she married Clark years back and they had a child. But fortunately, this has allowed her to take a much more active, varied, and invested role in Superman's stories.
It's unclear whether or not this positive change to her status quo will last, since DC have so little creative backbone they make jellyfish look like steel beams. Either way, it's clear that fans are really loving where Lois Lane is now.
