If there is a runner-up for the most complicated character in the Super-family behind Supergirl, it would be Connor Kent - Superboy.
Superboy is a clone, created after Superman was originally murdered by Doomsday. At least, that's the post-Crisis, pre-New 52 origin for him - but him being a clone is consistent across all modern versions of this character.
Connor has been kicking around since his inception, but no one really knew what to do with him until the original Young Justice came along and showed that his cocky, abrasive nature can become electrifying when given the right team of characters to bounce off of.
Since then, he's been switched between Young Justice and the Teen Titans, the former of which he resides with currently in the ongoing Young Justice series alongside other underrated characters like Wonder Girl and Amethyst.
