5. John Henry Irons
Another addition to the Super-family from the Death of Superman saga, this time someone who ended up becoming a completely separate hero in their own right, but was inspired by the Man of Steel's sacrifice to do good in the world: Steel.
Steel started off as John Henry Irons, an easygoing STAR Labs scientist who, like many, idolized Superman. So, when Superman died at the hands of Doomsday, Irons decided to try and carry on the legacy of the Man of Steel by taking that nickname to its logical conclusion.
Essentially turning himself into a DIY Iron Man, Steel - as he proceeded to call himself - became one of Superman's most stalwart allies and one of the DC Universe's most underrated characters.
Steel is currently operating out of Metropolis alongside Superwoman and his girlfriend Lana Lang.
