After Venom separated from Flash over the symbiote's fear it was negatively influencing the soldier, the creature came upon Lee Price - bonding to Lee to protect him from being shot and killed.
However, this proved an unwise move, as Lee was especially cruel to the symbiote, making the creature do terrible deeds by enforcing his will upon it.
Venom would separate from Lee after Spider-Man offered to let the symbiote join to him, although Price would try to hunt the alien down for some considerable time.
After stealing the Mania symbiote to try and forcibly take Venom back, Lee was brutally killed by the Carnage-possessed Cletus Kasady, who was impersonating Venom at the time.
