Wolverine's 10 Worst Ever Days

8. Being Crucified In Australia

Wolverine Birthday
Marvel Comics

Wolverine was crucified on a cross, but as this is X-Men, the cross was in the shape of an X, because why not?

In the late eighties, after the events of Fall of the Mutants, Chris Claremont moved the ragtag team of X-Men to the Australian outback, where the team set up shop in the former base of the cybernetically enhanced Reavers.

To teach the mutants a lesson, the Reavers decided to brutally beat and torture the Canucklehead before nailing him to the cross exposed to the harsh Australian elements.

Due to the pain and dehydration, he hallucinates enemies like Sabretooth taunting him for his failures and past sins. If Jubilee hadn't intervened, Logan would not have been able to summon the strength to free himself from the crucifix.

Though it was a horrific event in his life, it did lead to a lifelong bond between him and Jubilee, so it wasn't all bad.
