3. The Phoenix Doesn't Necessarily Mean Jean Grey

While Jean Grey is the first thought when it comes to Phoenix hosts, there have been many over the years.

Rachel Grey, Quentin Quire, Cyclops, Magik, Emma Frost, Colossus, Namor and more mutants have held the Phoenix Force for a time. Even Wolverine briefly had a connection with it, holding a Phoenix Gun at one point (again, because comics).

But more recently, Thane, the son of Thanos had become host to the Phoenix Force.

The Phoenix Force, while it may seem to have a penchant for redheads and a taste for mutants when it comes to Earth, is capable and known to merge with a whole host of people throughout the Marvel Universe.

In fact, Marvel are even making a whole variant cover collectible incentive out of it for the upcoming Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey.
