4. The Phoenix Only Bonds With Mutants

Given that the most well known host is Jean Grey, and the Phoenix appears in X-Men comics more than anywhere else, one could be forgiven for thinking the Phoenix is all about the mutants.

But really, that's not the case. The Phoenix Force has had numerous hosts (which we'll soon discuss), and naturally, not all of them could be mutants.

Sure, you've had Jean and a bunch of other mutants, but we've also seen recently a cavewoman host at the dawn of time, who was unlikely to have been a mutant. But more than that, other beings throughout time and space have been hosts to the Phoenix, including aliens and on Earth thousands of years ago, a magician named Feron.

So yes, while the Phoenix does seem rather partial to mutants, its not restricted in its taste in hosts.
