X-Men: What Happened To Everyone Who Became The Phoenix?

When the Phoenix Force decides it wants to stop the destruction of mutant-kind, and Dr. John Sublime decides he wants to make sure it happens, they both use the Stepford Cuckoos to achieve these ends.

The sisters reason that they stand a much better chance if they were five again and reanimate their two siblings and the battle lines are drawn. But it turns out that they are not just five but actually a thousand, as they have been cloned repeatedly.

What should be a crowning moment - with the sisters being able to call on the legion of clones they now have - is nothing more than a weapon that the Phoenix and Sublime both intend to use for their own means.

Thanks to CelesteCuckoo the day is won, but only when she destroys all of the others and traps the Phoenix shard inside their diamond hearts.
