X-Men: What Happened To Everyone Who Became The Phoenix?

It's probably safe to say that the last person in the universe that should ever have the power of the Phoenix Force is Quentin Quire, but that's exactly what happens when he is fighting side by side with Thor.

Having grown sick and tired of people Quentin heads off for some solitude and he finds this in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean where he lives on Krakoa. Everything's going peachy for him until Thor shows up one day looking for help. Having just beaten the snot out of a couple of Shi'ar Gods, it turns out the losers take defeat quite badly and call up the Phoenix Force to lay waste to reality. This now means that she now needs Quentin's help to stop it from happening.

The fight is on and when Quentin manages to gain access to the White Hot Room, he has a little pow-wow with the entity itself. Somehow managing to convince it to stop what it's doing and he also manages to convince it to allow him to absorb some of its power.

Now that the problem is solved, Quentin is the subject of worship by the Shi'ar who find themselves Godless but he soon returns to Earth without the Phoenix Force and with no real explanation as to what happened in the meantime.
