10 2016 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You

10. Hail, Caesar!

The Buzz: The Coen Brothers' latest screwball comedy project, which has been in various states of development for over a decade and boasts a ridiculous cast, including George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Christopher Lambert (yes, really), David Krumholtz, Clancy Brown, Dolph Lundgren and Alison Pill. And if that's not enough, the Coens' regular cinematographer Roger Deakins is on board too. Why It's Going To Disappoint: For one, the February release date is highly suspicious for a movie with a cast this amazing: is it simply that the film is just OK, or is it like The Grand Budapest Hotel, where the movie couldn't be rushed through post-production for the Oscars, but is still awesome? Then there's the rather low-key marketing campaign, which suggests that Universal aren't particularly fussed about it, and the feeling from the trailers that this will likely be one of the Coens' "lesser" recent films. We'd love to be wrong, but don't be surprised if it opens to three-star reviews across the board.
