5. Alien: Covenant
After the schism that Alien prequel Prometheus caused amongst fans, it's great to see a more traditional entry in the Alien franchise.
The movie is still a sequel to Prometheus for those who enjoyed the mythology that the movie built, but is also taking the series back its roots. Confined ship. Large crew. Larger Alien. You see where this is going. We're finally seeing another honest-to-god Alien movie directed by Ridley Scott. And that's exciting.
With an impressive cast featuring the likes of Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and James Franco to name just a few, there's plenty of fresh meat for the xenomorphs to tear through here. I know, I know, they're technically not xenomorphs yet... give me a break!
