10 90s Films That Hollywood Will Probably Remake

8. Face/Off (1997)

What Culture - 90s remakes Face Off Do premises come more ridiculous than John Woo€™s 1997 action flick? In order to obtain information on where a bomb has been planted, an FBI agent obsessed with stopping the terrorist who killed his son literally has his face swapped with him via plastic surgery. It€™s ludicrous in the extreme €“ particularly because of how perfectly the surgery works out - but manages to be one of the most fun and over-the-top action movies of the €˜90s. The idea is basically an excuse for two major stars, Nicolas Cage and John Travolta, to switch roles and be able to play both the good and the bad guy at different points. It€™s easy to see why this would be of interest for Hollywood to remake €“ taking two of the biggest names of today and pitting them against each other before switching their faces/roles. Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper? Ryan Gosling and Gerard Butler? Channing Tatum and Chris Pine? Who knows.
