10 Abandoned Movie Sequels We Actually Want To See

9. Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash

The Previous Movie: Freddy vs. Jason, the goofy yet enjoyable showdown between two of horror's pre-eminent villains, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger. Why It Was Abandoned: The follow-up would throw Evil Dead's Ash Williams into the mix, making this a triple threat grudge match for the ages, something sure to make all card-carrying horror fans salivate at the sheer thought. At the end of 2004, New Line was ready to acquire the Ash property, but when Sam Raimi's The Grudge was an unexpected box office smash, Raimi decided to remake The Evil Dead as his next project (in a producing capacity), essentially killing dead the New Line deal, and taking any prospect of a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash film with it. Though the treatment bandied around the web garnered strong reviews from the horror community, the closest we'll get to seeing it is Dynamite Entertainment, and DC Comics' six-issue comic book released in 2007 and 2008, written by James Kuhoric and illustrated by Jason Craig.
