4. Christian Bale - Noah - Noah
Darren Aronofsky's bombastic retelling of the Noah's Ark story, which featured Russell Crowe in the lead role, wasn't supposed to feature Russell Crowe at all. Originally, then, the director - famed for films like Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream - offered the part to none other than Mr. Christian Bale, who had to decline due to scheduling conflicts, but was reportedly disappointed that he was unable to feature. What's interesting, of course, is that Bale traded one Bible-based hero for another, given that he will soon feature in Ridley Scott's upcoming flick, Exodus: Gods and Kings, playing the part of Moses. No clue as to whether or not the actor will regret choosing Scott over Aronofsky, given that Exodus is yet to make its way into theatres. Bonus fact: Michael Fassbender was also considered for the part of Noah.
