10 Actors Who Already Hate Upcoming Movies

4. Tom Holland - Uncharted

UNCHARTED Movie
Sony Pictures Releasing

The news of Tom Holland's casting as a young version of Nathan Drake in the soon-to-release Uncharted adaptation was met with considerable skepticism by fans, who felt Sony had cynically cast a hot young actor of the moment to play a part he wasn't really suited for.

While embattled actors in this position will usually go on the defensive and try to assure fans that they're giving everything they've got to the role, Holland made the uncommon call to instead basically start dumping on his own performance.

In an interview with GQ last year, Holland was shockingly blunt in criticising his work on Uncharted and didn't seem massively enthused with the film itself either:

"As soon as you start worrying about 'Do I look good in this shot?' acting becomes something other than playing a character. I think there are elements of my performance in Uncharted where I kind of fell under that spell of being 'I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment.' I had to play this very tough, very stoic guy - basically be Mark Wahlberg.
My character is supposed to be a f**king action hero in this moment! Look, I haven't seen it, so I don't know if I succeeded in that. But it was an important lesson learned, because, at times, it was less about land a mark and go through this scene and more about land a mark, stand like this, and see my bulging biceps... It was a mistake and is something that I will probably never do again."

Before long we'll learn just how much of a "mistake" Holland actually made, though considering the clear disdain he has for his own performance, it's safe to say he'll probably be giving Uncharted a wide berth.
