4. Josh Charles - The Good Wife
Josh Charles earned two Emmy nominations playing womanizing attorney Will Gardner on The Good Wife. So it came as quite a shock when his character was tragically shot by a client in the courtroom.
Charles didn't sign a long-term deal when he started on The Good Wife. Instead, he had a short-term contract that he re-upped every year. After four years on the show, he decided against renewing his contract when it expired. Charles says he wanted to explore other creative pursuits. He signed up for a handful of additional episodes to help the showrunners complete his character arc.
