10 Actors Who Had A Massive Resurgence
6. Diane Lane
As an actress with a very long and varied career, Diane Lane has maintained a regular presence on the big screen. Since the age of twelve she has been acting professionally, covering an array of genres and projects.
In the early eighties, Lane was able to transition from child acting through to more mature adult roles, appearing in releases such as The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, both directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Her acclaim was so high at this point that many critics believed her to be one of the leading voices for female leads.
However, deeper into that same decade, Lane ran into critical and commercial failure with Streets of Fire and The Cotton Club. Both releases really dragged her reputation through the mud and the actress would take time off acting afterwards. This was mainly to focus on rebuilding family relationships.
Luckily towards the end of the eighties, she was able to revitalise her career and this has continued over the last two decades. By landing roles in the likes of The Unfaithful Wife and Secretariat, she proved there were still many more projects to explore. She's still active in movie-making today, having appeared as Martha Kent in the DC Extended Universe.
